Stained Napkin Theology

The name is derived from the experience of a few pastors meeting at a local cafe for breakfast, coffee, or lunch.

Discussions quickly gravitated to Scripture. From these discussions, many a sermon was derived and tweaked - sometimes before and sometimes after being delivered in their pulpits.

Often, notes were jotted on napkins stained from coffee cups, thus the name "Stained Napkin Theology".

Those familiar with church history may be reminded of the habit of 17th & 18th century English pastors who gathered at local inns and discussed theology.
